I am an artist by profession and I started Hadley Paper Goods in 2016: I was pregnant at the time. in retrospect that was a very odd time to start a small business, it all turned out pretty well though!
I love designing cards. It means I can earn a living from home whilst the child sleeps, and it makes me very happy to know that my designs are helping people to stay in touch and show love and gratitude all over the world. I also still work as an artist: making original artworks which I sell through my Mayfair gallery.
In 2017 Hadley cards went from strength to strength, they got stocked in top galleries including Turner Contemporary and the National Galleries of Scotland as well as brilliant design focussed stores such as Magma and SCP. In 2018 I plan on expanding my range of cards and Hadley Paper Goods will also be part of an exciting collaboration with Kettles Yard.
HOW IT ALL RUNS
The cards are printed in the U.K. and packaged and posted by me from my artist's studio in the Hertfordshire countryside. I run Hadley Paper Goods by myself - working around my two other jobs: full time artist and full time mother.
Things I can talk about:
Working creatively in small bursts that fit in to anyone's day.
